Summary of said statement.
The
mission of Based on current test scores, surveys, and focus group observations, four priority goals have been established for the coming school year. Academically, the first goal focuses on the improvement of our students skills in all content areas. During PLC weekly grade level meetings, teachers will map and align the curriculum with the Illinois State Standards. They will develop assessments for each skill as well. They will share their progress at leadership meetings and cross grade level meetings. Consultation with the PLC consultant will maintain the focus and continuity among the teachers. Goal Two will involve developing strategies to most effectively teach the Illinois Standards. Teachers will attend professional development workshops and share new strategies with fellow teachers during the SIP sessions. Goal three will focus on getting parents more involved in the school. New parent participatory activities will be developed as well as increasing broader communication within the community. Due to the rearranging of our district, fifth and sixth graders moving to the new 5-6 center, goal four will focus on reestablishing the school as a community. Classrooms will be updated and behavior incentives offered to encourage school pride and motivation. |
