Hello, my name is Amber Markus and I will be your child's teacher this year. A little bit about myself; I graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in 2004 and a Master of Science in Elementary Education in 2009.

I taught the 2004-2005 school year at Emge Jr. High in Belleville. Since 2005, I have been teaching the fifth grade at Dorris Intermediate School. I am very proud to be a faculty member of Unit 10.

My husband and I live on the outskirts of Highland, where I attended school and graduated from High School. Adam is a technician at Chevron Commercial, Inc. He has been there since 2002. We have been fortunate with his job to travel to several parts of Mexico. Adam also attends classes at SWIC, Granite City Campus, where he studies welding and Industrial Maintenance Mechanics.

We have two beautiful daughters, Sophie 3, and Saddie, 1. We are very proud parents as it is truly a blessing to have such wonderful and healthy little girls. We also have a beagle named Penny who is very protective of the girls.
