Pre-K News
September, 2007
Our first week of Pre-K has gone
very well. Thanks to all the parents
that have spent extra time helping the children get settled in the class. Also,
thank you for those of you who have brought the snack and supplies.
We have been learning the rules of
the classroom. The rules are as follows:
Hands and feet (and teeth) to yourself.
Listen when others are talking.
Walk in the school, don’t run.
Leave your toys and your gum at home.
You make it, you break it. (building
materials)
Please take the time to discuss these things with your child. Reinforcement at home will help your child with what we are working on at school. Also, don’t forget to help your child do their homework. Homework is to have the book we send home read to your child daily. Don’t forget to put it back in the backpack so they can choose a new book the next day. Please remember to check those backpacks everyday for any notes to you!
We are planning a special meeting called Stay and Play. This will help you learn how you can help when you stay and play in the Pre-K classroom. The meeting in English will be Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 8:15 in room 4 (Ms. Claudia’s new room). The meeting will be translated in Spanish on Wednesday, Sept. 26, again at 8:15 in room 4.
Important dates:
Sept. 10: Kreitner PTA meeting,
7:00 pm
Sept. 17: Picture Day, make sure
your child brings money if you plan to buy.
Sept. 25: Stay and Play meeting in
English
Sept. 26: Stay and Play meeting in Spanish
